Tara Basro was born as Andi Mutiara Pertiwi Basro on June 11, 1990, in Jakarta, Indonesia. She is the daughter of an airline employee, Iskandar Basro, and Sukmawati Iskandar. After graduating high school, Basro moved to Australia with her family and attended TAFE NSW in Dubbo.
