Early Life and Skating Career
Tara Lipinski is an American former competitive figure skater and actress who won the gold medal at the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics. Lipinski, known for her exuberant and carefree style, was crowned U.S. champion in 1997 and world champion that same year.
Professional Skating and Injury
After her Olympic triumph at just 15 years old, Lipinski retired from amateur skating and turned professional. She became the youngest professional world champion at 17. However, a hip injury began to affect her skating, and a fall during a "Stars on Ice" show in St. Louis in 1999 prompted her to retire from competitive skating.
Acting Career
Lipinski's acting debut came in the drama series "Touched by an Angel" (1994-2003). She went on to appear in episodes of "Arli$$," "The Morning Show," and "7th Heaven." Her first feature film role was in the comedy "Scream 3" (2000). Lipinski also had a recurring role in the family comedy series "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" (1996-2003).
