Early Career and Club Football
Azerbaijani footballer and coach, Vusal Ismayilov, began his career as a forward and defender. Until 2009, he played for the "Olimpik-Shuvalan" club, serving as its captain.
Throughout his career, Ismayilov played for various Azerbaijani clubs: "Neftchi" (Baku), "Termist" (Baku), "Turan" (Tovuz), "Karabakh" (Agdam), "Shafa" (Baku), and "Karvan" (Yevlakh). He is currently a player and captain of the Azerbaijani Premier League team "Olimpik-Shuvalan."
International Career
From 1992 to 2005, Ismayilov represented the Azerbaijani national football team. He was a pioneer for the team, making his debut in its first match against Georgia on September 19, 1992, in Gurjaani.
Retirement and Coaching
In 2009, Ismayilov decided to retire from playing and transitioned into coaching.
Club Career in Foreign Countries
In addition to his domestic clubs, Ismayilov also played for Russian teams "Terek" (Grozny), "Anzhi" (Makhachkala), and "Fakel" (Voronezh); Ukrainian club "Volyn" (Lutsk); and Iranian team "Esteghlal" (Tehran).
Final Match for the National Team
Ismayilov's last match for the Azerbaijani national team was a qualifying match against Austria for the World Cup on September 7, 2005, in Baku.
