Early Life and Education

Tasso Kavadia was born on January 10, 1921, in Patras, Greece. She studied piano in Athens, painting in Paris, and set design under the renowned Greek artist Yannis Tsarouchis. Her artistic aspirations eventually led her to enroll in a drama school.

Journalism and Translation

In 1954, Kavadia began working as a radio reporter and announcer. From 1955 to 1969, she held positions as a journalist and editor for various newspapers and magazines. She also worked as a translator, specializing in literary works.

Acting Career

Kavadia made her film debut in 1954 in a film by Michalis Kakoyannis. She went on to play a wide range of roles in both film and theater, spanning the entire repertoire. Her theatrical work encompassed both classical and contemporary plays.

Personal Life

Tasso Kavadia passed away on December 18, 2010, just weeks before her 90th birthday. She was buried at the First Cemetery of Athens. Her legacy as a versatile actress, journalist, and translator continues to inspire and influence Greek artists.
