Tate Donovan: Early Life and Television Career
Tate Donovan was born on September 25, 1963, in Tenafly, New Jersey, as the youngest of six children. After graduating from high school, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue his acting aspirations. In college, he formed lasting friendships with aspiring actors Grant Heslov and George Clooney.
Donovan began his acting career at a young age, landing roles in the theater production of "Memphis Belle" (1990) and Glenn Gordon Caron's "Clean and Sober" (1986). He gained recognition for his performance in Jeffrey Levy's "M. Butterfly" (1994), earning an Independent Spirit Award nomination.
