Family Heritage and Early LifeTatiana Augskap is a testament to the rich tapestry of cultures that constitute her family lineage. Her paternal grandfather, Roberts Petrovic Augskaps, was a legendary Latvian Red Rifleman during the Russian Civil War. Her grandmother, a Polish-Belarusian, raised their children while Roberts pursued a career as an engineer.
Tatiana's father, Agrij Robertovic Augskap, inherited his father's martial spirit but found his calling on stage. He joined the Russian Drama Theater in Riga and became a celebrated actor. He also taught acting, where he met his future wife, Flora.
Flora, an Armenian-French woman, possessed a charm that captivated Agrij. Despite a previous failed marriage, Agrij couldn't resist her allure. Their union produced two daughters: Irina, a calm and collected Latvian, and Tatiana, a vivacious Frenchwoman in spirit.
Artistic Roots
The Augskap family moved to Moscow in the mid-1960s. Agrij joined the Alexander Pushkin Theater, while Flora became a fashion designer and milliner. The sisters were exposed to the world of theater from an early age, attending rehearsals and performances.
At home, their mother created a vibrant atmosphere where artists and actors frequented. Inspired by this creative milieu, the sisters decided to pursue acting careers.
Early Career
Tatiana graduated from GITIS (Russian Academy of Theatre Arts) in 1984 and joined the Nikolai Gogol Theater. However, she struggled to connect with her seasoned colleagues. A year later, she moved to the Vladimir Mayakovsky Theater, which became her artistic home.
At the Mayakovsky Theater, Tatiana quickly rose to prominence, playing leading roles in productions such as "Bluebeard's Birthday," "Theatrical Romance," and "Children of Vanyushin." Her characters were known for their radiance, warmth, and vitality.
A Pivotal Moment
Tatiana's success was also influenced by her understanding with the theater's director, Andrei Goncharov, despite his notoriously strict nature. She saw him as a necessary leader, whose tough approach kept the theater together. Goncharov's rule prohibited his actors from filming without his permission.
Yet, Tatiana broke this rule when she was offered the role of Jenny in Pavel Lyubimov's adaptation of "The Pathfinder." Realizing her mistake, she immediately corrected her appearance, earning Goncharov's respect.
Film Career
Tatiana's film credits include "Follow the Star" (1987), "Down with Commerce on the Love Front" (1988), "Portrait of Mademoiselle Targye" (1991), and "Queen Margot" (1996).
Personal Life
Tatiana's first marriage, to actor Leonid Gromov, produced their son, Ivan. After their divorce, she found love with fellow Mayakovsky Theater actor, Alexander Makogon. Their shared values and love of family have bound them together ever since.
Recent Work
Tatiana continues to perform at the Mayakovsky Theater and has appeared in numerous television series, including "Women's Logic 3," "Children of Arbat," and "Detachment of Girls." She remains a vibrant and celebrated actress, her career spanning generations and cultures.
