Biography of Tatiana Shkolnik

Tatiana Shkolnik is a talented individual who strives to fulfill herself in various fields. She began her career as a stuntwoman, but she did not settle for just that. In 1997, she started acting in films and became known as an actress. One of her early roles was the character of Death in Vladimir Bortko's film "The Circus Burned Down and the Clowns Ran Away." Interestingly, it was Bortko who came up with the pseudonym "Tatiana Yu" for the actress. Tatiana entered the film industry thanks to her husband, stuntman Phillip Shkolnik. In her youth, Tatiana was involved in artistic gymnastics, ballet, and dance, which gave her a good physical foundation. This allowed her to become an excellent stuntwoman, performing complex stunts. However, she herself claims, "I do not consider myself a great stuntwoman. There are things that I simply won't be allowed to do because I'm a woman. Tell me, why should a woman 'burn' if her face and figure won't be visible anyway? But in general, it is impossible to teach a person to be a stunt performer. You have to learn it throughout your life. You need to take care of yourself physically, mentally, and spiritually."

Acting Career

While her main profession remains being a stuntwoman, Tatiana Shkolnik occasionally appears in small acting roles. Some of her notable roles include playing a stewardess in the TV series "Special Forces 2," a robber named Anna Kirillova in the series "Cops. Streets of Broken Streetlights-6" (episode "Robbery on Fontanka"), and Anna in the adaptation of Dostoevsky's "Crime and Punishment." However, she is best known to audiences for her role as Hella in Vladimir Bortko's film "The Master and Margarita." Bortko always had a warm attitude towards Tatiana, and after a long and unsuccessful search for the right candidate for this role, he finally turned to her with an offer: "Come to the set tomorrow!" It is worth noting that in real life, Tatiana is nothing like her ruthlessly indifferent character from "The Master and Margarita." She is a soft and kind person who supports herself spiritually through faith and prayers. When asked if she had any doubts about the filming, considering that her character appears naked in the scene, she replied, "First of all, it's a job. And besides, I have known the cinematographer of 'The Master and Margarita' for a long time, even before Vladimir Bortko. I know how he shoots. You can make pornography, or you can make a very beautiful film. I was sure that this person would do everything at the highest level. And we also talked to Bortko, he explained how everything would be. So, the doubts disappeared..."
