Teddy Riner is a French judoka, born on April 7, 1989, in Guadeloupe. His family moved to Paris shortly after his birth, and he grew up in the La Chapelle neighborhood in the XVIII district.
Sporting Career

Riner began his sporting career at the Aquaboulevard sports club in the XV district when he was only 5 years old. Despite his interest in basketball and football, at the age of 13, he decided to dedicate his life to judo.
At the age of 18, Riner became the youngest male world judo champion in history when he won the title in Rio de Janeiro in 2007. He continued his success by winning the world championship title in the heavyweight category seven times in a row from 2007 to 2015.
Riner also won two Olympic gold medals, in 2012 and 2016, and is a five-time European champion and nine-time world champion. He has been undefeated since 2010.
