Early Life and Family

Telman Surinovich Zurabyan was born in 1934 in Tbilisi, Georgia, to Suren Ivanovich Zurabyan, a civil engineer. In 1937, his father was unjustly arrested and later posthumously rehabilitated in 1956.

Education and Career in Engineering

Zurabyan completed his high school education at Tbilisi School No. 14 in 1952. He then pursued a degree in engineering at the Moscow Civil Engineering Institute, graduating in 1961. From 1961 to 1963, he worked in his field in Tbilisi and Moscow.

Transition to Literature

In 1963, Zurabyan transitioned to a career in literature. He became a freelance correspondent for the magazine "Science and Religion" and published articles in national and regional newspapers and magazines. He later served as the Moscow-based correspondent for the Armenian SSR State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.

Artistic Affiliations and Recognition

Zurabyan was a member of the Union of Journalists of the USSR, the Committee of Writers, and the Union of Artists of the Armenian SSR. His expertise in art was widely recognized.

Death and Legacy

On November 3, 1979, Telman Zurabyan passed away suddenly in Moscow. According to his wishes, he was buried in Yerevan, Armenia, at the Sovetaшен cemetery.

Zurabyan authored four books on Armenian art and artists:

In addition, he wrote over 100 articles primarily focusing on the work of Armenian artists.
