Early Life and Education
TEmirbek Asanbekov was born in the village of Ananyevo, Issyk-Kul Oblast, Kyrgyzstan (then Kirghiz SSR) on an unspecified date. He is of Kyrgyz ethnicity. From 1973 to 1981, Asanbekov attended secondary school in the village of Orto-Uryukta, Issyk-Kul Oblast. Subsequently, from 1981 to 1984, he studied piano at the Kurenkeev Music College in Frunze (now Bishkek).
Military Service
Asanbekov served in the Soviet Army from 1984 to 1986, assigned to the Limited Contingent of Soviet Forces in Afghanistan in the Herat province. He served as a squad leader in a motorized rifle battalion and was demobilized with the rank of Senior Sergeant. During his service, he participated in the Afghan War and was awarded the "For Courage" medal and the "Warrior-Internationalist" honor from the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, personally presented by Mikhail Gorbachev.
Agricultural and Business Career
Following his military service, Asanbekov enrolled in the Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy in 1986, earning a diploma as an agronomist in 1993. From 1996 to 1998, he worked as a Senior Manager at the Moscow International Insurance Company AIG. Between 1998 and 2002, he served as the General Director of the company "ATM-Agro" LLC. From 2002 to 2007, he held the position of General Director of "Arbat Management" LLC.
Political Involvement
In 2010, Asanbekov became the leader of the "Meken Yntymagy" ("National Unity") party. He ran as a candidate for President of the Kyrgyz Republic in 2011. Asanbekov also founded the Center for the Promotion of the Protection and Support of Kyrgyzstanis.
Social and Cultural Activities
Asanbekov is the head of the "Center for the Promotion of the Protection and Support of Kyrgyzstanis" in Moscow, Russia. He is also an academician of the International Academy of Arts of Russia and leads its Department of Arts. Asanbekov has organized several exhibitions featuring Kyrgyz artists under the title "Eastern Mosaic."
Personal Life
Asanbekov is married and has four children. He is fluent in Kyrgyz, Russian, and English.
