Terry Border: A Creative Photographer

Terry Border is an American photographer known for his creative projects. His camera focuses on simple objects such as food or household items, always featuring a live character at the center of the scene. This character could be a funny banana holding a chainsaw, an orange rocking its legs in a chair, or a kiwi shaving in front of a mirror.

The 'Bent Objects' Project

Terry Border started his own project, 'Bent Objects,' which gained him worldwide recognition for its uniqueness and creativity. In this project, Terry brings inanimate objects to life by giving them characters through his inventive techniques. Using ordinary wire, he creates simple wire hands, legs, and noses, transforming ordinary food and objects into amusing characters.

A World of Stories

Each photograph by Terry Border tells a story, as his animated objects become participants in various scenes. For example, an orange sitting in a chair by the fireplace, holding a bottle of beer in one wire hand and a glass in the other. Another amusing shot features an egg with two small wire wings attached on each side, as if it's about to take off from a tiny wooden ladder.

Terry Border's portfolio includes a dragon-shaped lighter, pear-shaped figures representing a man and a woman, a sleeping pill bottle soundly asleep on a small bed, a kiwi shaving in front of a tiny mirror, a cupcake with its head stuck in the oven, and many other unique characters. Each of Terry Border's creations easily conveys its own story and emotions, leaving viewers to wonder how he accomplishes this using just wire limbs and simple objects.

Recognition and Accomplishments

Terry Border's talent has been recognized worldwide. He has held numerous exhibitions and has published two books. His astonishing world created within the 'Bent Objects' project attracts viewers with its simplicity, which hides a deeper meaning. Terry Border's artwork can be observed endlessly; although seemingly primitive, it evokes both laughter and sadness. After seeing Terry's photographs, many people are inspired to think, "I could easily do something similar!" However, not everyone has the ability to come up with new and imaginative scenes like Terry Border does.
