Terry Alan Crews, an American actor and former professional football player in the National Football League (NFL), was born on July 30, 1968, in Flint, Michigan, USA. He attended Flint Academy High School and later pursued his education in the arts at Interlochen Center for the Arts and Western Michigan University.

During his time as a student, Crews became a key player in the WMU football team as a defensive end, earning numerous awards. In the 11th round of the 1991 NFL Draft, he was selected to play for the San Diego Chargers. He went on to have a successful sports career, playing for teams such as the Los Angeles Rams, San Diego Chargers, and Washington Redskins.

After retiring from football in 1997, Crews ventured into acting. He appeared in the American series "Battle Dome" and gained recognition for his role as Latrell Spencer in the crime comedy film "White Chicks." He also starred in the comedy "Friday After Next" alongside Mike Epps and Ice Cube. Crews became a sitcom star with his role as Julius Rock in the show "Everybody Hates Chris" from 2005 to 2008 on the CW network.

Outside of his acting career, Crews resides in Altadena, California, with his wife Rebecca, a former beauty queen and devout Christian, and their five children. He is actively involved in the faith community in West Covina.
