Thomas Goltz: A Veteran Journalist of Conflict Zones

Thomas Goltz, an American journalist, was born in Japan and raised in North Dakota. After graduating from New York University with a focus on the Middle East, he spent 15 years as a reporter in Turkey and former Soviet countries.

Wartime Dispatches: Eyewitness Accounts from Conflict Zones

During his time in these regions, Goltz authored three award-winning books chronicling significant events in conflict zones:

- "Azerbaijan Diary" (1998): Witnessing the Khojaly Massacre

- "Chechnya Diary" (2003): Uncovering the horrors of the Samashki massacre

- "Georgia Diary" (2006): Exploring the complexities of the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict

Beyond War Reporting

In addition to his war reporting, Goltz has also written "Assassinating Shakespeare: The True Confessions of a Bard in the Bush" (2006). This memoir recounts his earlier travels in Africa as an amateur actor.

Allegations of Bias

In March 2009, the Armenian National Committee of Canada accused Goltz of making racist remarks towards Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh during a lecture sponsored by the Assembly of Azerbaijani Canadian Organizations.
