Biography of Tim Armstrong
Tim Armstrong is an American businessman and the Vice President of Advertising Sales at Google. He joined Google from Snowball.com, where he held the position of Vice President of Sales and Strategic Partnerships. Prior to Snowball.com, Tim was the Director of Integrated Sales and Marketing at the electronic commerce divisions of ABC/ESPN companies Starwave and Disney. In this role, he oversaw electronic, television, print, and radio materials owned by these companies.
Career Beginnings
Tim Armstrong began his career as a co-founder and publisher of a newspaper in Boston, Massachusetts. He then joined IDG to launch the Internet magazine I-Way.
Achievements and Recognition
Tim has been recognized for his contributions to the advertising industry. Media Magazine named him one of the "100 People to Know," and in 2001, he received the Media Maven Award from Advertising Age.
Current Role and Responsibilities
As the Vice President of Advertising Sales at Google, Tim Armstrong leads teams responsible for advertising sales and operations in North America. His team members work in major cities in the United States and Canada, where they establish local partnerships and provide centralized sales and services. They collaborate with globally renowned companies and advertising agencies, as well as rapidly growing mid-sized companies.
