Timirlan Huseynov: Legendary Ukrainian Striker
Early Life and FamilyTimirlan Huseynov was born in Buynaksk, Dagestan, but his family moved to the small Ukrainian town of Pervomaisk when he was two. His father, a Kumyk, worked in a shipyard, while his mother was Ukrainian.
Club Career
Huseynov began his football career with Zarya Luhansk. He went on to play for CSKA Kyiv, CSKA Moscow, Metalurh Zaporizhzhia, Chornomorets Odessa, and Spartak Sumy. He twice won the Ukrainian Higher League's top scorer award (1993/94 and 1995/96) and became the first Ukrainian player to score 100 goals in official matches.
International Career
Huseynov made 14 appearances and scored 8 goals for the Ukrainian national team.
Coaching and Managerial Career
After retiring, Huseynov worked as a sporting director for Dniester Odesa and coached the amateur club Signal, leading them to victory in the Odessa Oblast Cup. In 2013, he joined the coaching staff of Real Pharma.
