Biography of Timofey Kutsevalov

Timofey Fyodorovich Kutsevalov was a Soviet aviator and military commander. He was born on November 17, 1904, in a peasant family in the village of Orlovka, Isilkulsky District, Omsk Oblast, Ukraine. Kutsevalov grew up in difficult circumstances after the death of his father and the loss of his siblings. He worked as a messenger in the Omsk railway depot and later as a laborer at a mill. In 1921, he moved to Grozny, where he worked in the oil industry.

In 1925, Kutsevalov joined the Communist Party and in 1926, he enlisted in the Red Army. He attended military schools and graduated from the Leningrad Military Theoretical School of the Air Force in 1927 and the 1st Military School of Pilots named after Comrade Myasnikov in Kacha in 1928.

Kutsevalov served as a commander of a squadron, then as a squadron leader, and eventually became the commander of the 22nd Fighter Aviation Regiment and the 23rd Mixed Aviation Brigade. He participated in the Battles of Khalkhin Gol in 1939 and played a crucial role in the defense of the Soviet Union.

In 1939, Kutsevalov was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union for his bravery and leadership. He received numerous other awards, including two Orders of Lenin, four Orders of the Red Banner, Orders of the Patriotic War 1st Class, the Red Star, and several medals. Kutsevalov continued to serve in various high-ranking positions during World War II and after the war.

In 1959, Kutsevalov entered the reserve and lived in Moscow. He passed away and was buried at the Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow.
