Early Life and Family

Born on December 23, 1929, in the village of Kamyshi, Timofey Maksimovich Belozerov hailed from a peasant family. Tragically, his mother passed away when he was only five years old. During collectivization, his father was arrested and later rehabilitated. After his release, he relocated with his younger son, Timofey, first to Ust-Kamenogorsk and then to Leninogorsk.

Education and Work

Belozerov completed his primary education in Staroakarasuk and continued his studies in Chernovo. He worked as a carpenter, railway worker, and lumberjack in Kalachinsk. In 1948, he enrolled in the technological department of the Omsk River College. Upon graduation in 1952, he underwent naval training in Vladivostok.

He worked as a master at the Bobrovsk Shipyard in Barnaul while pursuing his passion for poetry. His first publication appeared in the journal "Altai". In 1954, he transferred to the Lower Irtysh River Shipping Administration and the Omsk Shipyard. He was appointed literary staff member of the newspaper "Sovetsky Irtysh" and later worked in the foundry of the Omsk Popov Radio Factory from 1954 to 1963.

Literary Career and Recognition

In 1957, Belozerov published his first book of poetry, "On Our River." He joined the Union of Writers of the USSR in 1962. After graduating from the Gorky Literary Institute, he became an editor for Omsk Television in 1963. From 1968 onwards, he dedicated himself to literary work. He served as a literary consultant for the newspaper "Omskaya Pravda" for two decades.

Civic Engagements and Family

Belozerov was a deputy of the Omsk City Council from 1965 to 1967 and an authorized representative of the USSR Literary Fund for the Omsk region from 1967 to 1970. For many years, he was a member of the Bureau of the Omsk Writers' Organization. He passed away on February 15, 1986, in Omsk. He was buried in the Staroye Vostochnoye Cemetery alongside his father and son, Sergei Timofeevich.

Literary Legacy

Timofey Belozerov was the author of over 60 children's books released by publishers in Moscow, Omsk, Novosibirsk, and other cities. Their combined print run exceeded 16 million copies. Four of his books were included in serial publications: "Forest Crybaby" (1979), "Winter-Winter" (1989), "Karasik" (1981), and "Crane's Festival" (1990).
