Biography of Timofey Mozgov

Timofey Mozgov is a Russian professional basketball player who has made a name for himself as a center for the Russian national team. He was born in Leningrad (now known as St. Petersburg) and began his basketball journey at the Admiralteyskaya Sports School. At the age of 10, Mozgov and his family relocated to Krasnodar, where he played for his school team.

At the age of 16, Mozgov returned to St. Petersburg and enrolled in the basketball reserve school at the basketball boarding school. He joined his first team, LenVO, which was made up of young players from the boarding school. In 2006, he played for CSK-VVS-2 in the Super League B.

From 2006 to 2010, Mozgov played for BC Khimki. In 2010, he signed a 3-year contract worth $9.7 million with the NBA team, the New York Knicks. As part of the deal, the Knicks paid a compensation fee of $500,000 to Mozgov's former club, Khimki.

Mozgov has also represented the Russian national team, playing in the EuroBasket 2009 tournament. He was recognized as the team's best player in that tournament. Throughout his career, Mozgov has achieved several notable accomplishments, including winning the bronze medal in the 2007 Russian Championship and the silver medal in the 2008 Russian Championship, the 2008 Russian Cup, the 2008 Promo Cup of the VTB United League, the 2009 Russian Championship, and the 2010 Russian Championship.
