Biography of Timur Miroshnychenko
Timur Miroshnychenko is a Ukrainian commentator, journalist, and presenter. He has been working at the First National Channel since 2005, commentating on all Eurovision Song Contests. In 2008, he started studying "Television Directing" at the National University of Theatre, Film and Television.
Education and Early Career
From 1992 to 2002, Timur studied at the "Troyeshchyna" Gymnasium, where he graduated with a gold medal. He then pursued a degree in psychology at the National Aviation University from 2002 to 2007. During his university years, he also participated in the KVN comedy show.
Work at Eurovision
Since 2005, Timur has been a part of the First National Channel's coverage of the Eurovision Song Contest, providing commentary for the event. In 2009, he hosted the Junior Eurovision Song Contest together with Ani Lorak, and in 2013, he co-hosted the event with Zlata Ognevich.
The Scandal
During the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest's first semi-final, a technical issue caused problems with the sound in many countries, including Ukraine. Timur was caught in a controversy when he used inappropriate language towards the technical team. He later explained that during the live broadcast, they faced difficulties with the sound, with people shouting at them through their earpieces. Despite the challenges, Timur and his team continued to deliver their commentary until the first performance started. The emotions ran high during this tense moment.
