Early Life and EducationTyriil Eckhoff was born in Bærum, Norway. Her older brother, Stian Eckhoff, is also a renowned biathlete. She studied engineering at the Norwegian Institute of Technology.
Career Beginnings
Eckhoff joined the Norwegian national biathlon team in 2008 and made her debut in the World Cup in 2011. She initially found success in the relay, but her first individual podium came in the 2011-2012 season in Khanty-Mansiysk, where she finished seventh in the mass start.
