Early Career
Tom Caluwé, a renowned Belgian footballer, began his professional journey with the Belgian club Mechelen on August 25, 1996. He made his debut in a match against Harelbeke, coming on as a substitute for Revaz Arveladze in the 80th minute. The match ended in a 3-3 draw.
Move to the Netherlands
In 2000, Caluwé crossed borders to join the Dutch club Willem II. Over six years with the team, he amassed 169 appearances, scoring 9 goals. His impressive performances earned him a move to Utrecht in 2006, where he played for three seasons before embarking on a new chapter in his career.
Stint in Qatar
Caluwé's footballing odyssey took him to the Middle East when he signed with Qatari club Al-Wakrah in 2009. After two years with the team, he returned to his roots in Belgium.
Return to Belgium and Retirement
In July 2011, Caluwé made a sentimental move by signing for Londerzeel, the club where he had initially started his youth career. His footballing career culminated in his retirement in 2014.
International Debut and World Cup
Caluwé made his debut for the Belgian national team on May 11, 2006, in a match against Saudi Arabia. Notably, he marked his debut with a goal in the same game. Caluwé also proudly represented Belgium at the FIFA World Youth Championship.
