Early Life and Club Career
Born in the Netherlands, Ton Weimer began his football journey at OSV in Oostzaan. In 1966, he joined AFC Ajax as a 19-year-old winger.
Ajax Debut
On August 7, 1966, Weimer made his Ajax debut in a friendly match against CSKA Sofia, starting and scoring a goal in a 7-1 victory. His Eredivisie debut followed on August 14, 1966, as a substitute for Johan Cruyff in a 0-7 win over Elinkwijk.
Transfer to Wageningen
Despite his promising start, Weimer found himself playing for Ajax's reserve team the following season. In June 1968, he was placed on the transfer list and subsequently signed with FC Wageningen, where he spent several seasons as a defender.
