She comes from a family of talented tennis players, with her older sister Pam and older brother Jeff also demonstrating impressive skills on the court. By the age of ten, Tracy had already won 21 junior tournaments, including national championships.
Professional Success
In 1977, at the age of 14, Tracy Austin became the youngest participant in a professional tennis tournament held in Portland, Oregon. That same year, she made her debut in a Grand Slam tournament and showcased her talent. In 1979, Austin secured a victory over 35-year-old Billie Jean King at Wimbledon, solidifying her position as a rising star in the sport. The following year, Tracy Austin teamed up with her brother to win the Wimbledon mixed doubles tournament.
