Travell Mazion: A Rising Star Cut Short
Travis "Black Magic" Mazion was an American professional boxer who burst onto the professional boxing scene in 2013 at the young age of 17. In his brief but promising career, Mazion amassed an impressive record of 17 wins, with 13 of those victories coming by way of knockout.
Career Highlights
One of Mazion's most notable performances came in January 2020 when he knocked out Mexican opponent Fernando Castaneda in just 58 seconds of the first round. His undefeated record and impressive knockout power had many boxing enthusiasts predicting a bright future for the young fighter.
Tragic Accident
Fate, however, had a cruel twist in store for Mazion. On July 15, 2020, while driving his 2010 Cadillac STS, he inexplicably veered into oncoming traffic, colliding with a Nissan Sentra and then head-on with a Honda Pilot. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident, but it remains unclear what led Mazion to cross into the opposing lane.
Lives Lost
The tragic accident claimed the lives of both Mazion and a 61-year-old male driver in the other vehicle involved in the collision. Mazion was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other driver succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.
