Biography of Ty Lawson
Ty Lawson, an American professional basketball player, is known for his skills as a point guard. He was selected as the 18th overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves, but was immediately traded to the Denver Nuggets for a future draft pick. Lawson initially served as a backup player for Chauncey Billups in Denver.
However, when Billups was traded to the New York Knicks on February 22, 2011, as part of the Carmelo Anthony trade deal, Lawson became the starting point guard for the Nuggets. On April 9, 2011, Lawson made NBA history by being the first player to make 10 three-pointers in the beginning of a game. He made 10 out of 11 three-pointers and finished the game with a career-high of 37 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists.
Career in Europe
On August 15, 2011, Lawson signed a one-year contract with the Lithuanian club "Žalgiris," which included a clause allowing him to return to the Denver Nuggets after the NBA lockout ended.
