Tyler Brule
Biography of Tyler Brûlé
Tyler Brûlé, a British journalist and creator of the magazine "Wallpaper," was born in 1968 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. His mother was German, making Brûlé half German. In 1989, he moved to London, where he first studied journalism at the BBC and later began working at "Vanity Fair." He then worked as a journalist in Hamburg, publishing in magazines such as "Spiegel" and "Stern."

The Birth of "Wallpaper"
While working on articles and routine tasks, Brûlé stumbled upon a project for a magazine that did not yet exist in the world. After considering his idea from different angles, the journalist came to a clear conclusion - it was time to start! In the mid-1990s, the magazine "Wallpaper" was born. "Wallpaper" was created for urban modernists and travelers, featuring content related to interior design, architecture, fashion, and travel. The readership of "Wallpaper" is diverse and appeals to both men and women, as travel and a love for comfort are not gender-specific. The magazine became incredibly popular and has multiple editions in different countries around the world.

Success and New Projects
Brûlé gained fame as the mastermind behind successful projects. After raising the ratings of his brainchild to the desired level, he sold the publication to "Time Warner" in 2002. Brûlé directed all his creative and commercial efforts toward his London-based creative agency, "Winkreative," which he established in 1998. He also wrote articles for "The New York Times" and "Financial Times." Starting in 2006, Brûlé intrigued publishers and consumers with his new project - a magazine aimed at cosmopolitans. He presented his new project, "Monocle," as a magazine covering a wide range of topics, including architecture, design, fashion, culinary arts, politics, and economics. "Monocle" is divided into five logical sections: "A" - current events, including politics, "B" - business, "C" - culture, "D" - design, and "E" - recommendations. "Monocle" provides recommendations on books to read, restaurants to dine in, wine selection for family celebrations, and investment opportunities. The publication quickly appeared in kiosks around the world, from Seattle and Berlin to Shanghai and Cape Town. It is said that along with his magazine, Tyler Brûlé created an illustrated bible for the modern city dweller - contemporary, fashionable, and highly active consumer.
