Maurytz Yuriël Cornelisse was born on December 24, 1946, in Amsterdam, to Abraham Cornelisse and Henriette Figatner. Raised in post-war Amsterdam, Juri grew up alongside his half-sister, niece, and nephew, as well as his younger brother, Jacques, born in 1948. Abraham Cornelisse became a prominent entrepreneur and figure in the Jewish community, while Henriette passed away in January 1962 when Juri was just 18 years old.
Career
Juri Cornelisse's career took a major turn in January 1989 when he joined the board of AFC Ajax as a member.
