Early Years and Business Ventures
In the early 1990s, Vyacheslav and Vadim Aminov ventured into entrepreneurship. Vadim became the head of the company 'Gradient' in 1991, which was a distributor of cosmetics, perfumes, and household chemicals. Vyacheslav specialized in trading raw materials such as timber, metals, and petroleum products as the head of the sales department of 'Legpromsyrie' Trading House and later as the head of 'Prominvest' enterprise.
Founding Neftetransservice
In 2006, Vyacheslav Aminov, Vadim Aminov, Alexey Lichtenfeld, and Alexander Tertychny founded 'Neftetransservice', which has now emerged as one of the largest players in the Russian railway transportation market. The company currently holds the second position in terms of fleet size, with a monthly capacity of transporting goods weighing 6.6 million tons.

Recently, 'Neftetransservice' announced its plans to go public through an IPO on the London Stock Exchange. The shareholders intend to sell 25% of the company's shares, although the existing share percentage of the Aminov brothers will remain substantial. They also plan to expand the company's fleet from 66,000 to 100,000 wagons.
Furthermore, the Aminov brothers and their fellow shareholders are considering the possibility of acquiring parts of Russian Railways' subsidiaries, such as the Federal Freight Company and 'Transcontainer'. However, these speculations about future privatizations remain unconfirmed rumors.
Vyacheslav Aminov's Involvement in Politics
Apart from their impressive achievements in the business field, Vyacheslav Aminov has also been involved in the political life of the country. In the 1990s, he worked as an assistant to Boris Berezovsky and later to Alexander Voloshin. Berezovsky served as the Executive Secretary of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), while Voloshin was the head of the Presidential Administration.
In 2003, Vyacheslav Aminov faced legal troubles and was arrested for attempting to bribe a government official. The official version of the story stated that Aminov tried to establish contact with the head of the FSB (Federal Security Service), Nikolai Patrushev, by paying one of Patrushev's subordinates (an FSB lieutenant colonel) $50,000. Ultimately, the Supreme Court sentenced Aminov to one and a half years of conditional imprisonment, which was later reduced to one year.
The details of the case received significant media attention, with analysts noting the lack of direct evidence and the relatively lenient verdict. Various theories were put forward by journalists, suggesting that the arrest of Aminov might have been an attempt to manipulate his superiors, Berezovsky and Voloshin.
