Biography of Igor Kudryashkin
Igor Gennadievich Kudryashkin was born on November 22, 1961, in Kirovgrad, Sverdlovsk Oblast, Russia. He is a Russian businessman and millionaire who holds a PhD in Physics and Mathematics. Despite his dedication to science, Kudryashkin is a patron of the Russian Orthodox Church and a benefactor of one of the temples in Kirovgrad. His total net worth is estimated at $0.6 billion.
Education and Career
Kudryashkin attended the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys and graduated in 1984. He pursued his postgraduate studies at the same university and became the head of a laboratory. From 1990 to 1995, Kudryashkin served as the Chief Engineer of the scientific and technological center "Ecology." He later became the Commercial Director of OJSC Uralelectromed, a company specializing in refined copper and non-ferrous metals production.
In 2010, Patriarch Kirill visited the Uralelectromed plant and met with the management and workers. During the visit, it was announced that the factory had been awarded the Order of St. Seraphim of Sarov, 3rd degree. Additionally, Kudryashkin himself received the Order of St. Daniel of Moscow, 3rd degree, and the Order of Sergius of Radonezh, 3rd degree. He actively supports the Russian Orthodox Church and acts as a benefactor of the Temple in honor of St. Ambrose of Optina in his hometown of Kirovgrad.
UGMK Holdings and Sports Involvement
On July 1, 2002, Kudryashkin was appointed the Commercial Director of UGMK Holding LLC, a company with key assets in the mining, non-ferrous metallurgy, and engineering industries. Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company (UGMK) is the second-largest copper and zinc producer in Russia. Kudryashkin holds a 7.5% stake in the company.
Apart from his business ventures, Kudryashkin is the Vice President of the UGMK Fighting Club. The club received an award from the Russian Basketball Federation for being the most consistent Russian team. The award recognized the team's continuous presence and achievements in all competitions it participated in, never finishing below the fourth position.
Awards and Recognitions
In 2011, Igor Gennadievich Kudryashkin was honored with the Order of Friendship for his outstanding professional achievements and many years of diligent work. The award was presented to him by Evgeny Kuivashev, the authorized representative of the President of the Russian Federation.
