Early Life and Education
Vadim Chernysh was born and raised in Ukraine. In 1999, he graduated from the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University.
Legal and Banking Career
Before entering government service, Chernysh worked as a lawyer and bank inspector from 1994 to 2000. He also practiced law and taught legal courses.
Political Involvement
In 2004, Chernysh served as an electoral representative for Viktor Yushchenko during the presidential elections. From 2002 to 2010, he was a member of the Kirovohrad Oblast Council.
Government Service
Kirovohrad Oblast AdministrationChernysh began his government career in 2005 as deputy head of the Kirovohrad Oblast Administration. From August 2006 to November 2007, he served as head of the administration.
Council of National Security and Defense
In 2007, Chernysh was appointed to the Council of National Security and Defense of Ukraine.
Minister for Reintegration
In June 2015, Chernysh was appointed head of the State Agency for the Recovery of Donbas. In April 2016, he became Minister for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons.
Sanctions
In November 2018, Chernysh was included on Russia's sanctions list.Recognition and Expertise
Chernysh has received awards from the State Committee for Special Communications, the Central Election Commission, and the Ministry of Emergency Situations. He is an expert on anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing and a member of the international organization ACAMS.
