Russian Period
Vadim Ledogorov was born into a family of popular actor Igor Ledogorov in the 1970s. He made his film debut in 1974 in the children's fantasy film "Through тернии к звездам". Four years later, he played Stepan Lebedev in another fantasy film, "Through Thorns to the Stars". In both pictures, Vadim acted alongside his father, Igor Ledogorov.
After graduating from the Russian Academy of Arts, Vadim Ledogorov became a director. On Russian television, he directed Turgenev's "Provincial Girl" and made numerous radio productions. Vadim Ledogorov worked at the Yermolova Theater, the Russian Army Theater, and the Pushkin Theater. Among his works are leading roles in performances such as "My Happiness", "Eurydice", "Ward No. 6", "The Idiot", and "Robin Hood".
Emigration and Life in New Zealand
In April 1995, Vadim Ledogorov emigrated to New Zealand with his wife, actress Galina Samoylova-Ledogorova, and their four-year-old son Nikita. A year later, their second son, Sasha, was born.
Adjusting to a foreign country was not easy. At first, Vadim could not find work in his professions as an actor and director. Despite suggestions to change his career, Vadim persisted. For a year, he sent out his theater projects to various television and theater companies until finally capturing the attention of a manager at UNITEC's theater school. Chekhov's "Three Sisters" became Vadim's first production in New Zealand.
Subsequently, he directed plays such as Anouilh's "Antigone", Boccaccio's "Decameron", Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night", Schwartz's "The Naked King", and Chekhov's "The Cherry Orchard". In "The Cherry Orchard", Vadim's father, Igor Ledogorov, played the role of Firs, having moved to New Zealand to be near his son in 1997.
In addition to theater, Vadim Ledogorov works on the radio station "Yaroslavna", where he recorded Ershov's "The Hunchbacked Horse", acts in commercials, and teaches students, passing on his vast experience gained through years of study at the Moscow Art Theater and work in theater and film.
