Biography of Vadym Nesterchuk
Vadym Nesterchuk was a Ukrainian businessman and racing driver, known for founding and piloting the first Ukrainian team SIXT UKRAINE in rally raids. He was born in Kalinovka, Vinnytsia Oblast. Nesterchuk completed his education at Kyiv State Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (majoring in Finance and Credit), International Management Institute (MBA Program), Higher School of Economics, and London Business School.

For over 10 years, Nesterchuk led the Optima-Leasing group of companies, which included Sixt Ukraine, the leading car rental company in Ukraine. He was also the owner of the Paris-Dakar restaurant in Kyiv and resided in the city.

On June 24, 2013, Vadym Nesterchuk tragically passed away from dehydration in the Rub' al Khali desert in the United Arab Emirates. He left behind a wife and two children.

Vadym Nesterchuk participated in numerous rally raids throughout his career:

- 2009: Silk Way - Dakar Series (Russia-Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan), Dakar Rally (in the assistance crew)
- 2010: Dakar Rally (Argentina-Chile), Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge 2010 (Abu Dhabi), Silk Way Rally 2010 (Russia), Rally Oilibya of Morocco 2010 (Morocco)
- 2011: Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge 2011, Silk Way Rally 2011 (4th place), Baja 1000 (Ukraine)
- 2012: Italian Baja 2012, Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge 2012, Seeline Cross-Country Rally (Qatar), Silk Way Rally 2012, Baja Espana Aragon 2012 (Spain), Baja 1000 (Ukraine), Dune Cup (Ukraine)
- 2013: Participated in his sixth Dakar Rally
In 2008, Nesterchuk founded the first full-fledged Ukrainian team to participate in the legendary Dakar Rally and has been participating in it every year since then. The first significant performance for the Sixt Ukraine team was in Dakar 2008. Although the Dakar 2008 was canceled for safety reasons, the Ukrainian flag on the team's racing car gained attention from international drivers.
