Early Life and Education

Armenak Sargsyanwas a former member of the Armenian Parliament. He undertook his education at the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture from 1977 to 1982.

Coaching Career

Wrestling Coach and Trainer

Sargsyan served as a wrestling coach at a school from 1973 to 1975. He subsequently became a coach at the "Anush" club from 1977 to 1979. In 1995, he was honored with the title of Honored Coach of Armenia.

Military Service and Employment

Army Service

Sargsyan completed his mandatory military service in the Soviet Army from 1975 to 1977.

Worker and Polygraphic Plant

From 1979 to 1991, Sargsyan worked as a laborer at the Yerevan Polytechnic Combine.

Political Career

Local Government

In 1991, Sargsyan was appointed Chairman of the Shaumyan District Council in Yerevan.

Federation Chairman

From 1992 to 1997, he served as Chairman of the Wrestling Federation of Armenia.

Member of Parliament

Sargsyan was elected as a member of the Armenian Parliament twice. He served the first term from 1995 to 1999 and the second from 30 May 1999 onwards. During his time in Parliament, he was a member of the "Republic" faction and later the "Yerkrapah" deputy group.

Committee Member

Sargsyan was a member of the Standing Committee on State and Legal Issues of the Parliament.

Party Affiliation

Sargsyan was a member of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA).
