Early Life and Education
Born on January 30, 1945, in Ivanovo, Russia, the politician's early life was marked by his education and military service. He graduated with honors from the Ivanovo Textile Technical School, specializing as a textile production technician and organizer.
Military Service and Early Career
From 1964 to 1967, he served in the Soviet Army as part of the Soviet forces stationed in Germany, attaining the rank of senior sergeant. Upon his return, he began his career as an apprentice mechanic at the Ivanovo Machine Factory, where he worked until 2000 as a foreman for repair mechanics at the "Krasnaya Talka" factory.
Innovation and Industry Leadership
During his time at the "Krasnaya Talka" factory, he was recognized as a pioneer in textile innovation, contributing over 300 rationalization proposals to the industry. He also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the "Krasnaya Talka" Joint Stock Company.
Political Career
His political journey began in 1989 when he was elected as a People's Deputy to the Soviet Union from the trade unions. From 2001 to 2005, he represented the Ivanovo Oblast in the Council of the Federation, where he served on the International Affairs Committee. He also represented the Federal Assembly of Russia in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and was a member of the Committee for Equal Opportunities for Men and Women.
Awards and Honors
Throughout his career, he received numerous awards, including the "For Labor Valor" and "20 Years of Victory over Nazi Germany" medals, recognizing his contributions to the textile industry and his service to the state.
