BiographyEarly Life and Education
Dr. Anatoly Petrovich Sivkovwas born in the village of Vedenovka, Amur Oblast, Russia, in 1936. He graduated from the Ural State University (UralGU) in 1963 with a degree in Philology.
Academic Career
Head of the Department of Folklore and Ancient LiteratureFollowing his graduation, Sivkov joined the Department of Folklore and Ancient Literature at UralGU. Under his leadership, the department became a renowned center for folklore studies.
Dean of the Philological Faculty
From 1988 to 2004, Sivkov served as the Dean of the Philological Faculty at UralGU. During his tenure, he initiated several innovative initiatives to enhance the faculty's academic standing.
Head of the Ural University Folklore Expedition
Since 1993, Sivkov has headed the Ural University Folklore Expedition, which has conducted extensive research on Russian and Ural folklore.
