Early Life and Education

Valentin Lyubomirov Dimitrov was born on October 27, 1946, in Varna, Bulgaria. He graduated from the Higher Naval School in Varna (1964) and the Military-Political Academy in Moscow (1981).

Naval Career

Dimitrov served in the navy for 33 years, retiring in 2002 with the rank of Captain First Rank.

Literary Career

After retiring from the navy, Dimitrov became the editor-in-chief of the national maritime magazine "Club OCEAN" (Sofia). He is also a member of the Union of Independent Bulgarian Writers (since 2008) and has received eight journalism and literary awards.

Publications

Dimitrov has published over 1400 articles in the press and has authored eight books, including six non-fiction works on maritime subjects and two satirical books containing aphorisms, epigrams, miniatures, and a satirical dictionary.

Aphorisms

Dimitrov has been writing aphorisms since his years as a cadet. He has published his aphorisms in various anthologies, newspapers, and the online magazine of the Union of Bulgarian Writers, "Literary World".
