Vladimir Ianushevych Landik
Early Life and EducationBorn on November 22, 1946, in Chasiv Yar, Ukraine, Владимир Ландик graduated from the Kramatorsk Industrial Institute in 1969 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He pursued further education, earning a Candidate of Technical Sciences degree in 1997, a Doctor of Economic Sciences degree in 2003, and a Doctor of Science degree in 2003.
Industrial and Political Career
Landik's career began as an engineer at the Shterovsk Metizny Plant in 1969. He advanced through various positions until becoming Secretary of the Communist Party Committee at the Artemovsky Machine-Building Plant in 1982. In 1985, he became Director of the Donetsk Plant of Food Machinery, and in 1987, he assumed the role of General Director of the Electrobytmash Production Association.
In 1993, Landik entered politics as Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine for Foreign Economic Activity and Investments. He also served as Chairman of the Agency for International Cooperation and Investments and Chairman of the Interdepartmental Committee of Ukraine on EU Affairs.
Parliamentary and Political Involvement
Elected to the Ukrainian Parliament in 1994, Landik served multiple terms, holding various positions including Committee Member and Subcommittee Chairman. He was a founder of the Party of Work, which later became the Party of Labor and formed the basis for the Party of Regions.
Business Success
In the business sector, Landik served as President of the NORT Group and President of the Joint-Stock Company NORT. He played a significant role in developing the company into a leading manufacturer of household appliances.
