Early Life and Education
Natalya Uzhviy was born into a family of a zemstvo paramedic. She attended a gymnasium and later pursued a career in the performing arts.
Theater Career
<h2>Beresil Theater</h2>In 1924, Uzhviy joined the renowned "Beresil" Theater. In 1926, the theater relocated to Kharkiv.
<h2>Shevchenko Theater</h2>
Following the dissolution of the "Beresil" Theater, Uzhviy remained in Kharkiv with the Ukrainian Dramatic Theater named after Taras Shevchenko until 1938.
<h2>Franko Theater</h2>
From 1938 to 1967, she graced the stage of the Ukrainian Dramatic Theater named after Ivan Franko in Kyiv. Her notable performances included Sophia in "The Last Ones" by Maxim Gorky, Rosalia in "Filumena Marturano" by Eduardo de Filippo, and Gordilia in "Bitter Fate" by Mykhailo Starytsky.
Personal Life
Natalya Uzhviy was married twice. Her first husband was Georgy Bzhesky, a mathematician, with whom she had a son, Igor Bzhesky, who became a film director. Her second husband was the legendary actor and director, Amvrosiy Buchma, who held the prestigious title of People's Artist of the USSR.
Accolades
In recognition of her contributions to theater, Natalya Uzhviy was awarded the prestigious titles of Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1951) and Honored Artist of the Uzbek SSR (1944).
