After the war, Дзурлини ventured into filmmaking, initially focusing on documentary short films. In 1954, he made his feature film debut with "Girls of San Frediano," an adaptation of Vasco Pratolini's novel. This marked the beginning of a prolific career that would span several decades.
Critical Acclaim: "Family Chronicle" and "The Tartar Steppe"
Дзурлини's breakout film came in 1962 with "Family Chronicle," which shared the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival with Andrei Tarkovsky's "Ivan's Childhood." The film garnered critical acclaim for its nuanced portrayal of family dynamics and historical tensions. His last film, "The Tartar Steppe," premiered in 1976 and was met with similar accolades, earning two David di Donatello Awards for Best Film and Best Director.
