Early Life and Career

Valeriy Kryventsov is a Ukrainian football coach and former midfielder. Born in Donetsk, Ukraine, he began his football career with hometown club FC Shakhtar Donetsk, where he spent his youth career under the guidance of renowned coach V.I. Starukhin.

Playing Career

Kryventsov made his debut for Shakhtar's first team in the early 1990s. As a midfielder, he played a vital role in the team's success, winning three Ukrainian Cup titles in 1995, 1997, and 2001. His impressive performances earned him recognition as one of the top players in Ukraine, with nominations to the prestigious list of 33 Best Players of the Ukrainian Premier League in 1997 and 1998, finishing third and second respectively.

Kryventsov also represented the Ukrainian national team, making 17 appearances and playing alongside notable players such as Andriy Shevchenko and Serhiy Rebrov. He also earned six caps for the Ukrainian youth team.

Coaching Career

After retiring from playing, Kryventsov transitioned into coaching, joining the youth academy of Shakhtar Donetsk. Under his guidance, the Shakhtar U-19 team achieved remarkable success, winning the Ukrainian championship and reaching the final of the UEFA Youth League in 2015.

The following summer, Kryventsov was appointed manager of Ukrainian Premier League club FC Illichivets Mariupol. He led the team for two seasons before returning to Shakhtar as coach of the youth team.

Coaching Accomplishments

As a coach, Kryventsov has continued to showcase his tactical prowess, leading Shakhtar U-19 to numerous domestic titles and developing promising young players. His contributions to Ukrainian football have been recognized, earning him the titles of Master of Sports of Ukraine and Honored Worker of Physical Culture and Sports of Ukraine.
