Early Life and Club Career
Jose Della Torre was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He began his football career at Club San Isidro in 1925, where he played for two years. In 1927, he joined Club Racing (Avellaneda), where he spent seven seasons and became a key figure in the team's success. Della Torre played for America (Rio de Janeiro) in 1934, Ferrocarril Oeste from 1935 to 1936, and Atlanta (Buenos Aires) in 1937.
International Career
Della Torre was a member of the Argentine national team that participated in the 1930 FIFA World Cup. He played in five matches for the team during his international career.
Coaching Career
After retiring as a player, Della Torre became a coach. He led Racing to the Argentinian championship title in 1958. The following year, he served as part of the three-man coaching staff for the Argentine national team at the Copa América. In 1962, Della Torre entrusted Carlos Lorenzo with coaching the national team at the FIFA World Cup.
