Early Life and Education
Valery Padyak was born and raised in Transcarpathia. He attended Uzhhorod Secondary School No. 11 from 1966 to 1976 and then studied Russian language at Uzhhorod State University from 1977 to 1982.
Teaching and Publishing
From 1982 to 1986, Padyak worked as a teacher of Russian language and literature at Uzhhorod Secondary School No. 7. In 1986, he joined the Transcarpathian branch of the Kyiv publishing house "Radianska Shkola" as an editor of school textbooks. During this period, he co-authored original textbooks for schools with Hungarian instruction.
Academic Career
In 1990, Padyak earned a doctoral degree in literature from Uzhhorod State University with a dissertation on Russian classical literature in Transcarpathian Ukraine.
Founding of "Valery Padyak Publishing House"
In 2000, Padyak established his own publishing company, "Valery Padyak Publishing House." Over the next two decades, the company published approximately 300 books, gaining recognition beyond Transcarpathia for its publication of literature in both Ukrainian and Rusyn (a language not recognized in Ukraine but recognized in the European Union).
Authorship and Compilations
Padyak has authored and compiled numerous works, including monographs, university textbooks, and collections of Rusyn literature. Notable publications include:
