Valery Arkhipov, renowned as the chief choreographer of Moscow's Satirikon Theatre, began his artistic journey in St. Petersburg. After graduating from the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music, and Cinematography with a degree in "stage directing," he decided to seek opportunities in Moscow.

Upon arriving in the metropolis, Arkhipov initially pursued acting and dancing in music videos before joining the Satirikon Theatre as a rehearsal director. In September 2006, Arkhipov was approached to stage an ice show for the City Day celebration in Dmitrov. Despite having no previous experience with figure skaters, he successfully created a three-hour performance within just a month. This experience paved the way for his directorial debut at the Ryazan Oblast Drama Theater with "La Boba," an adaptation of Lope de Vega's play.

Challenges and Triumphs of "La Boba"

Initially hesitant due to his lack of formal directing training, Arkhipov eventually agreed to helm the production. He approached the task with meticulous care, abridging the play to accommodate dance sequences and plastic etudes. During rehearsals, he faced the challenge of directing experienced actors, but he gradually found his voice and won their respect through clear communication and demonstration.

"La Boba" premiered to critical and commercial success, with audiences praising Arkhipov's "delicate directing." The production earned him widespread recognition and invitations to return to Ryazan and pursue further directing opportunities.
