Early Life and Career
Ian Hodgkinson grew up without a father and was raised by his mother and sisters. He started his wrestling career in Montreal, participating in the international wrestling championship. Prior to becoming a wrestler, Hodgkinson worked as a bodyguard for the group "Milli Vanilli" and even received an offer to join the hockey team "Kingston".
During his early years in the wrestling industry, Hodgkinson trained under the guidance of professionals such as Abdullah the Butcher, Karl Gotch, and Paton Bonales. He debuted as a professional wrestler in 1984 and quickly gained recognition under various aliases including Vampiro, Canadian Casanova Vampiro, El Vampiro, Billy Ferri, and many others.
Wrestling Career and Achievements
In 1999, Vampiro joined the faction known as "The Dead Pool" and later became a member of "The Brothers in Paint" in 2000. Throughout his career, he also joined teams such as "Black's Army", "Los Hermanos de la Oscuridad", "The New Blood", "Dark Carnival", and "The New Church" from 2003 to 2004, where he fought alongside James Mitchell, Slash, Brian Lee, and "The Franchise".
Vampiro was known for his dark and villainous persona, often aligning himself with the "dark forces". He created an image of a ruthless and merciless anti-hero who would stop at nothing to achieve victory in the ring.
Some of Vampiro's notable moves include "Nails in the Coffin", "Flying Spinning Lariat", "Chokeslam", and "Sidewalk Slam". He also made appearances in movies, with his best-known films being "WCW Road Wild '99" and "WCW Halloween Havoc".
In 1999, Vampiro was awarded the "Gothic Heartthrob" prize by the "WCW" magazine. He has also achieved numerous prestigious victories and titles throughout his career.
Return and Epic Battle
In 2008, Vampiro made a comeback in "AAA" and issued a challenge to El Mesias. The highly anticipated match took place in June 2008 in Mexico City. The battle was intense and captivating, with Vampiro showcasing his skills while leaving his opponent with no chance of victory. However, El Mesias proved to be a formidable adversary, skillfully countering Vampiro's attacks. The match ended in a draw, showcasing the talent and determination of both wrestlers.
