Education and Early Career

In 1965, the subject of this biography enrolled in the Leninakan Pedagogical Institute, where he studied until 1970. He graduated with a degree in teacher psychology. During his time at the institute, he became a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU).

Professional Experience in the Soviet Era

From 1970 to 1985, the individual held various positions, including as a worker, journalist, and secretary of the Lenin Komsomol (VLKSM) committee within the institute. He also served as an instructor for the Gyumri City Committee and as the head of the culture department for the Gyumri City Council.

Political Involvement in the Soviet Era

During the years 1985 to 1990, he ascended through the ranks of the Gyumri Regional Committee of the Armenian Communist Party (KPA), first as the second secretary and later as the first secretary.

Involvement in Armenian Politics

Following the collapse of the Soviet Union, the individual played a significant role in Armenian politics. From 1992 to 1995, he served as Secretary of the Supreme Council of the Armenian SSR. From 1995 to 1999, he was elected as a member of the Armenian Parliament, where he held a position on the Standing Committee on External Relations.
