Early Life and Education
Vasiliy Ivanovich Losevwas born on August 18, 1934, in the village of Ragozino, Vitebsk Oblast, in Belarus. Raised in a peasant family, his childhood was marked by the German occupation during World War II. After liberation in 1944, Losev resumed his education at the Vydrinskaya School.
In 1951, Losev enrolled in the Vitebsk Technical School of Physical Culture, later transferring to the Kishinev Technical School of Physical Culture. Upon graduating in 1954, he continued his education at the Kishinev State Pedagogical Institute, obtaining a degree in physical education, anatomy, and human physiology in 1958.
Coaching Career
After graduation, Losev embarked on a successful coaching career. From 1962 to 1971, he worked as a track and field coach at the Special Children's and Youth Sports School in Kishinev.
In 1971, he became the Head Coach of Athletics for the Moldavian SSR. From 1976 to 1983, Losev served as the coach for the Moldavian SSR National Athletics Team. His athletes achieved significant success, including victories in major competitions.
Academic and Administrative Roles
From 1983 to 1993, Losev taught at the Moldavian Republican Technical School of Physical Culture. Subsequently, he joined the Institute of Physical Culture and Sports of the Republic of Moldova as a Senior Lecturer in Athletics, a position he held from 1993 to 1999.

In recognition of his contributions to athletics, Losev received numerous honors:
