Vasily Yakovlevich Dudar
Early Life and EducationBorn on November 21, 1902, Vasily Yakovlevich Dudar's life trajectory was forever entwined with the village of Dudarkiv in the Boryspil district of the Kyiv region.
Educational Leadership
Appointed as the director of the Dudarkiv School in 1932, Dudar's leadership spanned six years. His dedication to education and the well-being of his students would later become the cornerstone of his legacy.
Arrest and Execution
On May 17, 1938, Dudar's life took a tragic turn when he was arrested by the Soviet authorities. Accused of participating in a counter-revolutionary organization, he was sentenced to death on September 28, 1938. On October 2, 1938, Dudar was executed.
Family and Descendants
Dudar's memory lived on through his wife, Tatyana Matveevna, and his children, Yevgenia and Vasyl. His grandson, Yurii Vasyliovych Ivchuk, received Dudar's posthumous award on November 22, 2007.
Heroism and Legacy
In recognition of his selfless acts during the Holodomor famine of 1932-1933, Vasily Yakovlevich Dudar was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine on November 21, 2007. His heroism and unwavering commitment to his students continue to inspire generations of Ukrainians.
