Veda Hille is a Canadian singer-songwriter who was born in Vancouver, British Columbia on August 11, 1968. Her early life was marked by frequent moves between urban and rural settings, which fostered her interests in nature, science fiction, and psychology. Hille began piano lessons at age six and later delved into popular music and jazz. She also experimented with lounge music before pursuing a degree in fine arts.
Musical Career
In the 1990s, Hille began writing original music and released the rare cassette recording "Songs About People and Buildings" in 1992. Her popularity grew as she performed locally and toured Canada. She formed her current band in 1997 and released her debut album, "Path of a Body," in 1994.

Hille's music explores themes of nature, heartbreak, the pervasive threat of tragedy, and her hometown. She has collaborated with various contemporary dance companies, composed for Theatre Replacement, and participated in projects such as the documentary "Shameless: The ART of Disability."
