Veronika Vitkova is a Czech biathlete who has achieved significant success in her career. She was born on December 9, 1988, in Vrchlabi, Czechoslovakia. Veronika comes from a family with a strong sporting background. Her father's uncle, Zdenek Vitek, was a former biathlete who won a bronze medal at the World Championships in 2003 and became the coach of the Czech women's national team. Her mother's sister, Jana Shaldova-Suhardova, was a skier who participated in the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano.

Veronika Vitkova started her athletic journey at the age of 10 when she began practicing biathlon. Prior to that, she had been involved in skiing. In 2004, Veronika became a member of the Czech national team. The following year, she made her debut in international competitions. Veronika's breakthrough came in 2006 when she won the individual race at the Junior World Championships. Her performance caught the attention of the biathlon community, and she started competing in the World Cup circuit during the 2006-2007 season.
