After completing eight grades of schooling, he attended a vocational school and earned a degree in blacksmithing. He worked as a ship repairman in Vladivostok and developed a passion for television.

Dombrovsky's interest in media led him to become a documentary cinematographer. He studied in Moscow and later directed a local film studio, illustrating books and travel guides. He also produced and starred in his own documentary films.
Literary Journey
Throughout his life, Dombrovsky collaborated with various newspapers and journals, including "Krasnoe Znamya," "Izvestiya," and "Sovetskaya Kultura."
